attitude is so much!

Hello to you!

Thanks for the cleanse comments:) I have to tell you I LOVE the taste..I think if you don't care for the taste you need to work with the lemons or limes and the amount of mixture. I also love the Neera Cleanse due to there syrup and where it all comes from. One day at a time...

Below is an email I received today from a friend and coaching client. He has had some health issues. I wanted to share this email with you all just so you can read and feel the amazing attitude!
It is a blessing to have people in my life with this attitude and a constant reminder that we can all use a kick in the butt every so often!

Wanda is doing better with each passing day, again thank you all for the prayers. She has a total of 19 broken bones. I spoke with her on the phone today and her attitude is the same as you read below.

I thank God for the bumps in the road for they are what make us stronger, smarter and better people.

Good night and God Bless!

Lisa

Hi, Lisa!

Things are going OK. Knee is 100%. I have not had any atrial fibrillation episodes requiring cardioversion (“reboot” the heart) since Oct 10th. My cardiologist is “sure” I will have another episode soon. I usually “know” when it is coming and the past few days I have had numerous irregular beat episodes. After my next one I’ll have the surgery (pulmonary vein ablation). I saw my cardiologist a couple of weeks ago and he “asked” and strongly suggested that I taper back my running until things are stabilized. We had a long discussion of what “taper back” is. Bottom line – no long (over 2 hr) runs. Most running is 60-90 mins at 70-75%. Still doing some cross training but taking 2 days off per week. It is not life threatening as long as I stop exercise as soon as I go into A-Fib.

It’s all just a detour. I’ve accepted it. I plan on running the MDS 2008. My spirit is strong, my heart is full of gratitude for all the wonderful gifts God has given me which I do not deserve. I continue to live one day at a time, with a daily goal of performing one random act of kindness. My wife and the kids are great. We are all going to Kauai for 10 days after Christmas. What else could I want? The physical issue is just a bump in the road – sometimes you just have to do around it!

Peace and love to you, Jay and the girls. I think of you often. I will keep in touch.

Skin Cancer Risk

Good morning!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was a real joy to be in Louisiana with my family but now we are on the road headed back to Idaho.

Jay ran the Bull Dog 50 last Sat. and was 3rd overall and just under 5 hours. It was sunny and hot! He feels good about it:)

My leg is still painful to walk on, will see the Doctor when I get home but I am sure the IT band just said..enough pounding for now, I want to swim:)

Today is the LAST day to order the snowshoes so please email me if you still want them. If you have no idea what I am talking about go to my Thanksgiving blog:)

We have 25 people who are doing the cleanse! This is so wonderful!!! It is not to late to join on with us..people will be doing the cleanse until Christmas and we are here to support you.
The first 2 days you may get a slight headache, the 3rd day you will not feel to hungry and then you will feel great!! This is something you need to focus on, meditate and know you are going to feel an abundance of new, clean energy. Your body is going to feel new! Make sure when you order your Neera cleanse you let them know I sent you!

Below is a very good link and article about skin cancer risk..a must read.

Thanks to all of you who have been and who are praying for Wanda. She is improving with each day but she is a mess. So many broken bones. The truck dragged her body before it stopped. The had to cut the leash from the dog off of her wrist. It is a miracle she was not killed and it is a miracle she does not have any head trauma. Your prayers are working! Thank you.

Love to you all

please pray for wanda

 Good morning to you all..

I got a very sad phone call this morning from my brother Mike.
His girlfriend Wanda was run over by a truck last night while she was walking across the street with her dog.

She was hit by a drunk driver and a driver with no insurance.  Wanda is a mess with a broken back, pelvis, ribs and many more health issues.

Please put your heads down and say a prayer....

Just a reminder of how precious life is.

Thank you..

Love to you all
Lisa

I am so happy that so many of you have decided to join me in doing the Neera Cleanse during this holiday season. I can assure you that you will benefit from the cleanse and I am so very grateful that our beloved children in Africa will be helped by your commitment, too. A donation will be made to the Religious Teachers Filippini for each cleanse kit that is bought.

So, for those of you who have been thinking about doing it, but haven't committed just yet why not send me an e-mail to share your concerns and questions. And for those of you who have been meaning to place your order, but misplaced the ordering information, click here for the complete details.
http://lisasmithbatchen.blogspot.com/2006/11/thanksgiving-is-almost-here.html

So, the ideal would be for us to approach this as a group, offering each other support. I am happy to facilitate this and hope we can use the blog as a forum of sorts. I will post a Blog each morning during the cleanse and then I encourage you to post your comments. You have the option to post comments alongside your name, or you can post anonymously. Together we can do this!

Some of you are thinking about doing this the day after Thanksgiving - that's GREAT!!! - and others are targeting Monday, December 4th as the first day of my cleanse. But I am here to support you whenever you start!!! Stay tuned!

Happy Feet (and heart!).

Cranberry Chutney

For years I insisted on store bought cranberry sauce - no chunks, just that smooth roll complete with indentations from the can! Once I tasted my mother’s homemade chutney I was converted. I make it in huge batches, give it as gifts around the holidays and even freeze it to have throughout the year. It goes great on a turkey sandwich with avocado and honey mustard or with vegetable pot pie. Once you taste it, you’ll understand why I’m so addicted!

2 cups cranberries – washed and sorted
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup sucanat
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup water
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3 medium apples, cored and chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

Combine cranberries, raisins, sucanat, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and water in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir in onion, apples and celery and cook 15 minutes more. Remove from heat, add lemon peel and serve. Can be made several days in advance and stored in air-tight container in refrigerator or freezer.

Makes 4 cups

Savory Stuffed Pumpkins

Try this recipe stuffed in individual sweet pumpkins, delicata squash or acorn squash. For an even more dramatic presentation, clean out, roast and stuff a large hubbard squash.

6 small sweet pumpkins
3/4 cup soft wheat berries
3/4 cup sweet brown rice
1 thumb-size piece of kombu
8 ounces tempeh
3 cups vegetable broth
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons mirin
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
1/2 teaspoon coriander seed
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
3 leeks
2 cloves garlic
8 ounces crimini mushrooms
2 teaspoons fresh oregano or thyme
3 tablespoons tamari
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup cashews, roasted and chopped

Soak wheat berries and rice in enough water to cover for at least 1 hour. Rinse and place in pot with 3 cups of vegetable broth and kombu, bring to boil, lower to simmer, cover and cook for 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preheat oven to 400. Neatly cut off tops of pumpkins, clean out insides of all seeds and strings, put tops back on, place on cookie sheet and roast for 30 minutes. If using more pumpkins or a larger squash, increase cooking time appropriately. For smaller squash, decrease cooking time. When just tender, remove from oven and set aside.

While pumpkins are roasting, cut tempeh into 4 pieces and steam 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. When cool enough to handle, crumble tempeh into skillet and sauté with 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil until lightly browned. Deglaze pan by turning up heat and adding balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon mirin. Add tempeh to grains.

Heat remaining tablespoon of grapeseed oil in skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seed, coriander seed and celery seed and stir. Add leeks and garlic and sauté 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and oregano and sauté 3 minutes longer. Deglaze if needed with one tablespoon at a time of either mirin or tamari (depending on your taste preference). Add to grains.

In small mixing bowl, whisk together mustard, 1 tablespoon tamari, pepper and salt. Add to grains along with roasted cashews. Toss grain mixture to evenly distribute all ingredients, stuff into pumpkins, cover with pumpkin tops, place on cookie sheet and roast 40-45 minutes or until squash is cooked through but firm enough to hold stuffing. Serve hot.

Monday!!

 Good morning!

Well we are back in Louisiana and it is sunny and warm again today:)

I know you are all wondering how my run went this weekend. Gods plan may not have been my plan but in the end I am happy with how it all went:)

To be honest I did not think I would feel well during the run, our 1 year old was up Friday night sick and I did not get any sleep.
The course was to be flat, but it was rolling hills! I trained for a flat course and so did everyone else. I was ok with this, I really like hills but after several hours they seemed like mountains:) I really feel many were upset with the lack of accurate course descriptions and I have to save I cant blame them. This was a national Championship race and details should have been perfect! The other issue was there were not any age group awards!
40 and over was my age group and Marie Boyd whom I coach is 58 years old ran 92 miles and was the oldest women to finish was in my age group!!! Marie you get my award:)

I felt great, really great. My mind set with the loops was much better than I thought it would be. The course for me dictated when I would run and walk with the hills.
I ran the first hour easy with no walking just to get the bugs out. My legs did not feel like I could run until about 2.5 hours into it..some of you know how this goes!

I got into  the run walk plan, my nutrition plan felt great..

Finaly ran many laps with me and each lap seeing Bob (Birthday Boy) was awesome.
It was also awesome to see so many others out there and even DEAN who was running amazing...By the way I think Dean ran over 130 miles and was top 4!

9 hours into the run, I had no idea how far I had run..I did not care nor was I looking at laps..I just felt great and was doing my own thing...
Then..all of the sudden my left leg started to hurt, my IT band. I stopped and took aleeve but the minute I went from a walk back to a run the pain became sharp and very painful. Each strike of my left foot to the ground was a pounding knife to my IT band.
The pain started going up into my butt so I just walked.

What to do?
I had Jody work on my IT band and it was painful to the touch. I went to the bathroom and there was a bruise starting on the IT band.
I walked a lap with Finlay and then tried to run again..the pain was worse.
I wrapped and taped my leg but that was not going to help. I was offered some Celebrex or Viox but I did not want to run on this and limp for hours..

My choice was to stop running and not to walk for 14 hours. I was not willing to run and limp for 14 hours. So..I turned in my time chip...
I had gone, I think close to 60 miles in under 10 hours..this was with all the stops to try and decide what to do..
Like I said, I felt great and I still do..It was just meant for to run 60 miles and I am happy with this.

Today my IT band is painful and bruised. I will stay off running for now and try to start to just swim and bike.
60 miles is not a bad day at the office:)

The results of the race are not up yet..

Many fast times at JFK 50 this weekend! I am still waiting for results and will let you all know them soon.

Below is a wonderful story, if you have not read it before you need to.

Have a blessed day

Lisa

Don't forget to watch the video at the end.

From Sports Illustrated, By Rick Reilly

I try to be a good father. Give my kids mulligans. Work nights  to pay for their text messaging. Take them to swimsuit  shoots. But compared with Dick  Hoyt, I suck.

Eighty-five times  he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in Marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a Wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and Pedaled him 112  miles in a seat  on the handlebars--all in the  same  day.

Dick's also pulled him cross-country skiing, taken him on his back mountain climbing and  once hauled him across the U.S. On a bike, makes taking your son bowling look a little lame, right?

And what has Rick done for his father? Not  much--except save his life. This love story began in Winchester , Mass. , 43 years ago, when Rick was strangled by the umbilical cord  during birth, leaving him Brain-damaged and unable  to control his limbs. "He'll be  a vegetable the rest of his life;'' Dick says doctors told him and  his wife, Judy, when Rick was nine months old. ``Put him in an Institution.'' But the Hoyts weren't buying it. They  noticed the way Rick's eyes followed  them  around the room. When Rick was 11 they took him to the Engineering  department at Tufts University and asked if there was Anything to help the boy communicate. ``No way,'' Dick says he was told. ``There's nothing going on in  his brain.''  "Tell him a joke,''  Dick countered. They did. Rick laughed. Turns out  a lot was going on in his brain. Rigged up with a computer that allowed him to control the cursor by touching a switch with the  side of his Head, Rick  was finally able to  communicate. First words? "Go Bruins!'' And after  a  high school classmate was paralyzed in an  accident and the school organized a charity run for him, Rick pecked out, ``Dad, I want To do that.'' Yeah, right. How was Dick, a self-described  ``porker'' who never ran more than a mile at a  time, going to push his son five miles? Still, he tried.  "Then it was me who was handicapped,'' Dick says. ``I was sore for two weeks.'' That day changed Rick's life. ``Dad,'' he  typed, ``when we were running, it felt like I  wasn't disabled anymore!'' And  that sentence changed Dick's life. He became obsessed with giving  Rick that feeling as often as he could. He got  into such hard-belly shape that he and Rick were  ready to try the 1979 Boston Marathon. "No way,'' Dick was told by a race  official. The Hoyts weren't quite a single runner,  and they weren't quite a wheelchair competitor. For a few years Dick and Rick just joined the massive field and  ran    anyway, then they found a way to get into the  race Officially: In 1983 they ran another   marathon so fast they made the Qualifying time for  Boston the following year. Then  somebody said, ``Hey, Dick, why not a triathlon?''

How's a guy who never learned to swim and hadn't ridden a bike since he was six going to haul his 110-pound  kid through a triathlon? Still, Dick tried. Now  they've done 212 triathlons, including four grueling 15-hour Ironmans in Hawaii . It must be a buzzkill to be a 25-year-old  stud getting passed  by an  old guy  towing a grown man in a dinghy, don't  you Think?  Hey, Dick, why not see how you'd do on your  own? "No way,'' he says.  Dick  does it  purely for "the awesome feeling'' he gets seeing Rick with a  cantaloupe smile as they run, swim and ride  together.

This year, at ages 65  and 43, Dick and Rick finished their 24th Boston  Marathon, in 5,083rd place out of more than 20,000 starters. Their best time? Two hours, 40  minutes in 1992--only 35 minutes off the world  Record, which, in case you don't keep track of these things,   happens to Be held by a guy who was not pushing another  man in a wheelchair at the Time.  "No question about it,'' Rick types. "My dad  is the Father of the Century.'' And Dick got something else out of all this  too. Two years ago he had a mild  heart  attack during a race. Doctors found that one of his arteries was  95%  clogged. "If you hadn't been in such a great shape,''  One doctor told  him, "you  probably would've died 15 years ago.''  So, in a way,  Dick and Rick saved each other's life. Rick, who has his own apartment (he gets home care) and works in Boston,  and Dick, retired from the military and  living in Holland, Mass. They always find ways to be together. They give speeches around the country and compete in some backbreaking race  every weekend, including this Father's Day.

That night, Rick will buy his dad dinner, but  the thing he really  wants to  give him is a gift he can  never buy. "The thing I'd most  like," Rick types, "`is that my dad sit in the chair and I push him once."

And  the video is below....must see.

Thanksgiving is almost here :)

Hello!

Thanksgiving is almost here :) Take the time to sit back and look at all the wonderful people and things we have to be thankful for. Good health and feeling the wonders of abundance energy is one of the key things I am thankful for. Like all of us our bodies go through phases, my feelings are we are just like the changes of seasons. Winter, spring, summer and then fall, each season our bodies are in a different place. I also feel our bodies are like the automobiles we drive and many people take better care of their cars then they do there bodies! Our bodies need a tune up, an oil and filter change just like our car does!

Some things to consider as you make the transition from Fall to Winter:

A FASTING CLEANSE

Many of my coaching clients are going to do a fasting cleanse together during the 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. Below is the link that I want you to go to and read, it will tell you all about the BENEFITS and why we all need to do this. Doing it as a team we can all support each other. I have done this cleanse several times and have to tell you the benefits are greater than what the company can even explain to you.

Please feel free to email me with any questions about the cleanse after you read the web site:
http://www.neerasupercleanse.com/programdetails.htm#Benefits

I do the 5-7 day cleanse but usually only do it for 5-6 days, I feel amazing after this amount of time. The price for the 5-7 day is $49.95 plus ship fee. The ship fee ranges from $7 in CA. to $9.50 on the East Coast.

To order you can email Chitvan, who is the owner of the company at
info@neerasupercleanse.com

** Please tell him Lisa Batchen sent you, each one we sell will bring a donation to the kids!**
Let’s get healthier energy together!

3 Runners, 80 days. 4,000 miles

Good morning!

Our friends Ray (whom I coach), Charlie are running with Kevin..These are the guys Jay ran on a team for the jungle marathon! Check it out!
Amazing challenge:)

3 Runners. 80 Days. 4,000 Miles.

Right now, three human beings are attempting the impossible - running 4,000 miles across the Sahara Desert to raise awareness for the 1.2 billion people around the world who don't have access to clean water. They will run 50 miles a day - for around 80 days - an amazing feat of human will and endurance.

Get updates on the run and join me in the fight for clean water.
http://action.one.org/runningthesahara/

Earlier this spring, my friends at the ONE Campaign and DATA brought me to Zambia and South Africa, where I witnessed extreme poverty and the role that clean drinking water plays in getting millions out of danger. I learned that a child dies every 15 seconds due to diseases from dirty water.

Upon my return, I wanted to do something.

Through some friends, I learned about three men who will undertake a quest so amazing and symbolic that it could do an immense amount of good for Africans in extreme poverty. In a bold expedition that has never been attempted - 3 men, from 3 nations will run from the Atlantic coast of Senegal, through Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Libya, to the Red Sea in Egypt.

My colleagues, including James Moll - a great filmmaker who won the Oscar for Best Documentary in 1999 - are documenting and promoting the expedition in our project called "Running the Sahara". As part of this effort, we've started a charitable initiative called H2O Africa, in a large part to raise awareness for clean water programs on the continent.

Get updates on the run and join me in the fight for clean water.

One of the reasons I got involved in the project was because of the day I spent with a 14 year-old girl in Zambia earlier this year. I walked two miles with her to the closest water source, a well outside her village. I asked her if she wanted to stay in her village when she grew up, and her face exploded into a huge smile. The translator said to me, "She is being very shy...she says that she wants to move to big city - Lusaka - she wants to be a nurse." And it was clear to me at that moment that if this well were not there for her, she would never even be able to entertain the concept of planning for the future - she would have been trying to survive just for that day.

This one well was giving hope to thousands of people in the surrounding area, and this hope translates into something concrete - that girl can now fulfill a dream to become a nurse, and can become an economic contributor to the Zambian economy.

Running the Sahara is happening NOW. These guys are there and they are going for it. And we want the world to sit up and take notice. These guys are my heroes, and I want to do whatever I can to support them and their mission.

Please join me.

P.S. Stay tuned! Next week ONE is sending a small team to Mali to catch up with the runners. The team will upload video and blog reports, http://action.one.org/blog/comments.jsp?blog_entry_KEY=231&t=, about the progress of the expedition!

Our Buddy Dean

So..Dean was sitting on the bus with one of my coaching clients Wendy from Jackson and she said he looked good and fresh:)

Dean finished the 50/50 in style but what most of you don't know is that Dean decided then to run home! NYC to San Fran! I guess we won't see him at the 24 hour race this weekend, or perhaps he will be in Dallas Texas by then and just run the 24 hour for the heck of it:)

By the way, Wendy and her husband Brain ran together in NYC. They not only raised $50,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation they ran a 3:38..a big time best time and Wendy qualified for Boston :)

The End of the Beginning
Karnazes completes The North Face Endurance 50. And Does Not Stop.

Dean Karnazes did not walk or talk like a man who had just run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days. After he completed the ING New York City Marathon on November 5, 2006, his final 26.2-mile run in The North Face Endurance 50, he had a bounce in his step and an energetic shimmer in his eyes. As a crowd cheered for him, he held up both arms and let loose a primal holler, followed by a smile.

"I really feel great," said Dean, while gathering together his belongings in the RV that had served as his rolling home for the past two months. Then, he added with a mischievous smirk, "I feel so great, I may just keep going."

shin splints exercise program

Good morning to you all!
I am having such a wonderful time with my father, it has been sunny and warm:)
The past few days I have been able to do a few shorts runs and feel ok about being able to participate in the 24 hour race this weekend in Dallas. My only goal is to just keep on moving for the 24 hour even if its just walking. The weather forecast is for sunny and in the 70s:):)
In my next update I will give you many race results from several runners in the past few weeks. I can tell you this Sandy was the 2nd women in the Sahara race!
My blog is going to start to give you many different ideas about many things:)
Have a wonderful day!!
SHIN SPLINTS EXERCISE PROGRAM:
If you feel pain on the front of your lower legs, even just to touch the bone you may have shin splints. Here are some things to do!
1.Point toes downward as far as possible then point toes upward as far as possible. Do while keeping the foot as flat as possible on the floor, toes projecting over the edge.
2.Spread toes as wide as possible using your hands to assist if necessary.
3. While sitting, weight on the outside of the feet, soles facing; make a "fist" with your toes.
4. While sitting, right foot resting on the heel; make a slow inward or clockwise circle; inward or counter clockwise circle for the left foot.
5. While sitting, place your feet on a towel in the front of you. Curl your toes and slowly draw the towel toward you. Use a weight on the towel for resistance.
6. Pick up marbles, pencils, etc. from the floor with your toes.
7. Standing, raise as high as possible on your toes and back down--3 directions.
8. Turn ankle in against resistance (manual, bike tube, etc).
To massage and relieve a tired and sometimes painful arc, roll your arch back and forth over a soda bottle, baseball bat, or golf ball.

The Journey of a Mother

Good morning!

I have been on the road a few days now making my way to Louisiana with my 3 year old! She has been just amazing and I have to say we are having a blast. This special quality time and one of one time is magic for both of us. When I grew up we never had any quality time with our parents, I was one of 5 kids and we were all less than 2 years apart. I look back and have no idea how my parents did it..we all turned out ok:)

I have not been able to run or workout in days..you know how it goes when you start to feel out of shape? Well, that is me about now!! My butt muscles might be in shape from sitting and my stomach muscles might be in shape from laughing:)

Have a blessed day
Lisa

The Journey Of A Mother

The young mother set her foot on the path of life.
"Is this the long way?" she asked.
And the guide said, "Yes, and the way is hard.

And you will be old before you reach the end of it.

But the end will be better than the beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that anything could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, she fed them and bathed them, and
taught them how to tie their shoes and ride a bike and reminded them to
feed the dog, and do their homework and brush their teeth.

The sun shone on them,

and the young Mother cried, "Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the nights came, and the storms, and the path was sometimes dark,
and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them
close and covered them with her arms, and the children said, "Mother, we
are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children
climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.

But at all times she said to the children, "A little
patience and we are there." So the children climbed, and as they climbed
they learned to weather the storms.

And with this, she gave them strength to face the world.
Year after year, she showed them compassion, understanding, hope, but
most of all...unconditional love.

And when they reached the top they said,

"Mother, we would not have done it without you."
The days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the
mother grew old and she became little and bent. But her children were
tall and strong, and walked with courage. And the mother, when she lay
down at night, looked up at the stars and said, "This is a better day
than the last, for my children have learned so much and are now passing
these traits on to their children."
And when the way became rough for her, they lifted her,
and gave her their strength, just as she had given them hers. One day
they came to a hill, and beyond the hill, they could see a shining road
and golden gates flung wide. And mother said: "I have reached the end of
my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my
children can walk with dignity and pride, with their heads held high,
and so can their children after them. And the children said, "You will
always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed after her. And they said:
"We cannot see her, but she is with us still.
A Mother like ours is more than a memory.
She is a living presence."
Your Mother is always with you.
She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the
smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that
she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well,
she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day.

She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep,
the colors of a rainbow, she is
Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter.
And she's crystallized in every teardrop.
A mother shows every emotion
...happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness,
excitement, joy, sorrow...and all the while, hoping and praying you will
only know the good feelings in life.
She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you
follow with every step you take.

She's your first love; your first friend, even your first enemy,
but nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, not space...not even death!

PASS THIS ON TO ALL THE MOTHERS AND
DAUGHTERS AND SONS YOU KNOW....
MAY WE NEVER TAKE OUR MOTHERS FOR GRANTED.

"The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or touched - they
must be felt with the heart."
