Galapagos Islands!!!

It is amazing that a month has gone by!!! I have just read many blogs thing morning to catch up.
I am proud to be an American and I am so proud of our country.

We had 2 wonderful training camps in the Galapagos Islands!!! Both camps were sold out and as it looks they are about close to being sold out for 2009. The training, the people, the food, the amazing animals, the air quality...need I say more.
Below is a link to Matt Harts blog with photos and then photos from camper Becky Clements who is running the 2009 MDS. Becky also made a blog post on her own blog. I am going to ask all the campers to post links to there photos if you would like to see them!
I arrived back to the states with 3 missing bags..until my bags arrive I will not be able to post any of my own photos!

I just got home and leave on Friday morning to fly to AZ where I will pace 2 women through Ironman AZ!!! I have not been on the bike since Oct. and have been able to swim 4 times. It should be fun! Nice and easy to the finish line.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, we sure have much to be thankful for.

Welcome back, Lisa! You've been gone for a long time! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well, and have fun in AZ!

In case you missed out, I was confirmed with femoral neck (hip) stress fracture, and just getting back to running again. I really missed it.
Also - Larry and I are engaged now:)

Next time to the Galapogos you are going with us!!! The kids so loved it..the animals are so kind and beautiful. Annabella brought gifts back for all of her class mates and both girls learned a great deal of Spanish:)
M and Becky were both at camp..it was such a joy:)
Love to you and to all the little people:)

Lisa,
I had a most wonderful time at camp! Yeah, the animals were cool, but the workouts, opportunities to learn from the pros, and getting to experience a taste of the UltraRunning comeraderie were the best!

I returned home with a renewed belief in myself, my abilities, and increased energy and determination. Thank you for believing in me!

This camp was incredible-- of course, I've not been to a DC camp that hasn't been incredible, but in addition to the usual dose of wonderfullness there was the added bonus of

A) insanely beautiful surroundings

B) painfully delicious home cooked food

C) the most incredible place to stay with the nicest staff on earth

D) great trips organized for you on your time off

E) for so cheap a price that I almost felt bad.

But perhaps the best thing is that Lisa went to the island ahead of schedule and put sea lions everywhere so that I'd feel really svelte and in-shape by comparison. Thanks, Lisa!

Hi Lisa!

I had an awesome time at the Galapagos camp. I can't say enough great things about my experience from the coaching (you and Matt were wonderful) to the amazingly fresh and abundant seafood dinners (I may have actually gained weight) to the peaceful accommodations to the beautiful scenery...I could go on and on. I'll go again next year if I can swing it again.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work and tireless effort in coordinating such an event and then also leading it! Wow!
