Below is a great advice for me!!!

Prepare well, pace yourself, and hydrate! And keep in mind the words of Shoma Morita:
When running (up a hill), it's okay to give up as many times as you wish, as long as your feet keep moving...

One week from today we will be at the pre race meeting and the crews will be getting all the vans ready to go. I did not get to do my Sat. run so it will be done today. It is 90 degrees here which is warm. I have a sweater on and long sleeves and feel very comfortable:)
I am reading a book by Chuck Norris called, The Secret Power Within. This is the 3rd time I have read through it!
Here are a few things from the book:
"You must be in control of all your emotions under pressure or you wont be relaxed and will lose your ability to respond easily and think clearly. If you're afraid your concentration will be on avoiding getting hurt and not on the problem at hand. If you're frustrated, you will lose control."
"You control your thoughts by concentration on what's at hand. You have to know yourself and how you personally react when the heat is turned up, and believe you can manage it. You must maintain focus on the here and now, and then you are in control. The bottom line is you must believe in yourself."
"If I am getting better, its because I've slowed down, and that's what I am suggesting to you. Pace yourself, attend to everything in its own sweet time, and you'll accomplish more than if you go all out at every opportunity. Slow down and you'll go faster."
"Set goals, visualize the results of those goals, and then be determined to succeed by overcoming any obstacles in the way."
